On behalf of the entire teams at OneSeventeen Media and Manor New Tech High School, we thank our valued sponsors and volunteers for their tireless help in helping make this opportunity for some many youth around the world to showcase their talents.
OneSeventeen Media
We know kids are smart, savvy technology users. Our mission is to provide relevant tools to help them navigate their environment in a respectful, responsible and confident way to become successful, productive members of society. We're passionate about giving kids a voice and validating their opinions.
The foundation of
OneSeventeen Media's corporate philosophy as a company formed by social venture entrepreneurs is building a culture of "doing good and doing well" both internally as well as out in the community. Through this commitment, we're honored to co-produce the Young Minds Digital Times Youth Film Competition in partnership with Manor New Tech High School.
Manor New Tech High School
Manor New Technology High School (MNTHS), located in the city of Manor (just outside Austin, Texas), has a mission to prepare students for the global society through the articulation of mathematics, science and technology. MNTHS strives to provide a rigorous, well-rounded education with an emphasis in mathematics, science and technology core curriculums; establish a personalized college and work ready culture that promotes increased post-secondary educational opportunities; provide innovative instructional focus for teachers and leadership; and strengthen the community involvement in order to create partnerships for programs and internship opportunities for students and teachers.
MNTHS is modeled after an existing New Tech High School in Sacramento, CA, and project-based learning (PBL) is the major vehicle of instruction. PBL is based on the fact that students learn better when they see relevance of skills or content. PBL is an approach that presents curricular objectives, based on state standards, as a search for relevant or useful knowledge or skills.

Warren New Tech High School
Warren New Tech High School (WNTHS) opened through a joint initiative between the North Carolina New Schools Project, the New Tech Foundation, and Warren County Schools. In August of 2007, our first class of 75 ninth graders joined us on the Vance-Granville Community College campus for our first year of operation. For the 2008-2009 school year, WNTHS has moved to the Hawkins Educational Center, and our rising tenth graders will be joined by a new group of ninth graders. Each year, we will continue to add a grade level until the school serves 9th-12th grades in the 2010-2011 school year.
