Here’s How Submissions Will Be Judged

Starting December 6, 2008, the public will be able to vote for their favorite film in each category, once, daily. Public voting ends on December 12, 2008 at 12:00 Midnight EST. Upon the completion of the public voting period, the top five films with the most votes in each category and age division will move on to the second round of judging. Contest participants may participate in the public voting using the same passkey they submitted their film under. Other individuals wishing to participate in voting will register through this site and use their assigned passkey. There is no restriction as to who can participate in public voting. We do request that each person register only once, and an email address may only be used by one person to register. The public will be allowed to vote once a day, per a category, for the duration of the voting period. If you have previously registered for the contest, you will use the same passkey to vote in the competition and you do not need to register again. Contestants found violating the voting procedures will be removed from the contest.

In the second round of judging, the OneSeventeen Media staff will select the top three videos in each category. The top three videos as selected by the OneSeventeen Media staff will move on to the final round of judging, where the films will be reviewed and critiqued by industry experts. These judges will then rank the top three videos in each category and determine the two grand prize winners and the recipients of any Judges Choice Awards. Winners will be notified on or before February 13, 2009, and all films placing in the top three in their category and age division will receive professional feedback from the expert judges.
